Claire Ennis
My full name is Mrs Claire Martina Ennis, married with two children, I live in Trowbridge, Wiltshire where I have spent most of my life.
I have always been interested in art and crafts and everything handmade, as I believe a little piece of the artist goes into the piece they are making.... more meaningful and thought about.
I found myself on maternity leave nearly six years ago and decided then I did not want to go back and work for someone else. It was then I decided to do something from home. My non-existent skills of jewellery making became a very steep learning curve and my hobby quickly turned in to a passion and a business was born, Claire’s Crystal Classics.
I am a self taught registered member of SRAJD: Self Representing Artist Jewellery Design. Learning all the skills required to make exciting new creations, I have attended and completed a silversmithing course at Trowbridge College in 2010. With jewellery design and making there are so many techniques and styles to learn with so many different mediums on the market, so I am sure there is still a lot more to learn.
I get asked a lot where do you get your designs from, I get inspired by everything around me, colours, wildlife, textures, nature and of the course, the beads almost tell me what they want to be, as strange as that may sound.
I currently run jewellery making workshops from my home studio and teach once a month at Warminster college.
I offer a bespoke design service whereby if you have something you need colour matched or have a design idea in your mind, I can create the dream for you. You can even come around to my home studio and choose the beads you fancy.
